Ralph Nader

At the end of February, Ralph Nader made his official entry into the 2008 Presidential run. Attacked after the 2000 run in which Gore lost to Bush, Nader has maintained that he did not “spoil” that election.

In fact, many pieces of evidence suggest that a number of factors contributed to Gore’s loss though much of the public is either unwilling or unable to accept such information.

Nader was actively sought to run on the Green Party ticket by a group of Green Party members, DraftNader.org. However, Nader announced that he is running an Independent campaign. He has recruited former Green turned Independent, Matt Gonzalez as his running mate.

Gonzalez, a civil rights lawyer, is very aware of the criticism and lawsuits in store for himself. However, he sees an opportunity to open up the system by promoting electoral reform during this campaign.
