"Average Joe" Schriner

An "Average Guy" who just happens to run for President every four years.

Joe Schriner has been campaigning for President since 2000, traveling over 80 miles of America’s highways and back roads with his wife, three kids and a dog. This former journalist and occasional housepainter has been on a quest to find common sense solutions on "how to reverse global warming, how to stop nuclear proliferation, how to help the poor and the marginalized, what to do about immigration issues" and through research and conversation has developed "an American people’s platform."

"Average Joe" is an engaging guy with an endless supply of anecdotes about his travels and how they influence his platform. Previously an Independent, Joe supports Green Party values of sustainability, economic justice, and the environment, although his pro-life stance, or what he calls "A Consistent Life-Ethic" is at odds with traditional Green politics. In Mr. Schreiner’s view the biggest Pro-life issue is the Environment "because without a world, nobody lives." "Average Joe" registered as a Green in July 2007 at the Green Party National Meeting in Reading, Pennsylvania.
